Internships at the University of Delaware 

At the University of Delaware, I had the incredible opportunity to roll up my sleeves and dive into the world of art conservation through a series of in-depth internships. Each project introduced me to new materials, challenges, and stories—like the undateable Islamic stoneware dish I reassembled and restored using conservation-grade adhesives and inpainting techniques, or the early 20th-century book I brought back to life through delicate tissue repairs and spine reconstruction. I even stabilized a fragile papier-mâché ammonite model, carefully reinforcing its structure while preserving its quirky charm. For my senior capstone, I treated archaeological metal artifacts—an ornate coffin ornament and a harmonica reed plate—using corrosion reduction methods and Japanese tissue supports. Along the way, I learned to balance practicum and documentation, recording each step with research, photography, and a deep respect for the past. These experiences shaped my approach to conservation as both a technical discipline and a form of cultural stewardship.
