Researching Abroad with the Dutch Church Library Project 

As a participant in the Dutch Church Library Project through the University of West Georgia’s Public History Research Abroad Program, I collaborated with students and faculty from multiple institutions to recover and document rare volumes once housed in London’s Dutch Church. My work involved visiting prominent repositories such as the British Library, Lambeth Palace Archives, and the London Metropolitan Archives to locate and analyze scattered books. I contributed to the forthcoming publication Treasures of the Dutch Church by researching and writing about Thucydides, translated by Lorenzo Valla and annotated by Conrad Heresbach, highlighting its cultural and scholarly importance. Additionally, I completed an independent research project on the early history of the British Museum, using primary sources and institutional records to trace its evolution. I presented my findings at the end of the trip and participated in professional development tours at museums and conferences, gaining a deeper understanding of international archival methodologies and public history practices.
